News From World Football

Two of the most exciting football events currently taking place are the Chinese Super League and the Champions League. Both attract millions of fans, sports bettors in particular, with Sbobet covering Asian betting market, and numerous online bookies profiting from the European one.

Shanghai SIPG vs Guangzhou Evergrande

Shanghai SIPG is one step closer to winning the first title in the Chinese Super League, after a dramatic victory over the current champions Guangzhou Evergrande on Tuesday night.

As the veterans of the Champions League are bringing their experience and talent to the Chinese Super League, the first round of the group stages in Europe already shows promise of an entertaining competition this season, with group A through to D providing viewers with enough drama and nail-biting intensity, we all love from the beautiful game.

Tottenham vs Inter

Tottenham had to face a determined Inter team that showed no signs of slowing down throughout the 90 minutes. Christian Eriksen put Tottenham in the lead in the 53rd minute. The Italian team struck back in the 86th minute with a fabulous strike from outside the box by Mauro Icardi. Unfortunately for the English team, they could not even secure a single point due to the last-ditch effort from Vecino in the 92nd minute.

Barcelona vs PSV Eindhoven

Meanwhile, in Barcelona, Messi scored a hat-trick and Ousmane Dembele scored a cracker from far out against PSV Eindhoven. The little magician was incredible despite a few misses from in and around the box. The game was one-sided with Barcelona having 76% possession. PSV just could not get the ball around the pitch enough to mount a serious threat – 250 passes were made by PSV compared to Barcelona’s 781. Despite the incredible success on the night, Umtiti picked up a red card in the 79th minute of the game and it was completely unnecessary given the tremendous lead.

Barcelona and Inter Milan are now top of the group table in what is sure to be an exciting competition.

Liverpool vs PSG

Liverpool’s win against PSG has given credence to the Red’s shift in reputation from being a good side to a force to be reckoned with. The leadership of Jurgen Klopp has put Liverpool in the final last season and the team looks ready to go far this year. Last time the Red’s were in the final we witnessed two terrible blunders from goalkeeper Karius that crushed the dreams of many English fans. This time, with Alisson Becker, the man between the sticks will have a safe pair of hands that’s for sure.

Red Star vs Napoli

Also in group C, we got to see Red Star Belgrade draw against Napoli and secure a point at home. The Serbian squad faces arguably the most difficult group in the competition. They face the attacking force of PSG in October, with the likes of Mbappe, Cavani, and Neymar, they will put their defensive skills to the test. Napoli had a shaky start to the Champions League, losing their first match 3-1 to Red Bull Leipzig and then barely making it through to the group stages. As it stands, PSG and Liverpool are to win this group, but anything could happen – it is football.

Galatasaray vs Lokomotiv Moscow

Over in Istanbul, Galatasaray secured a confident win over Lokomotiv Moscow. With three goals the Turkish champions even managed to pick up a late red card. Lokomotiv found it hard to match the Turkish onslaught with equal ferocity. In the same group D, Schalke and Porto locked horns to deliver a draw. Schalke started their season horrendously losing all three domestic league games so far – it is a miracle they got away with a point.
